MADE IN GHANA
PHILOSOPHY
EST 2005_
SIKA was founded in 2005 by creative director Phyllis Taylor with the vision that fashion has the power and potential to make a positive contribution to society.
The ethos behind SIKA is not only to produce quality 'made in Africa' garments for the international market but also to ultimately prove that garment production can successfully have social and environmental responsibilities at its core.
For SIKA that means paying fair wages, creating employment and making a meaningful difference within the Ghanaian community.
All SIKA garments are designed in London and handmade in Ghana (West Africa) by our skilled garment production team.
Not only do we produce our own collections, we have also created collaborative lines for international brands such as ASOS (SIKA x ASOS), The Vogue Talents Corner (yoox) and Beams Japan.
SIKA X SHOPBOP
‘London-based designer Phyllis Taylor launched her label Sika with significant meaning behind it—not only is it her mother’s name, but the word derives from the Akan tribe in Ghana, West Africa, meaning "gold". Sourcing and working closely with fabric suppliers, Sika creates and designs its own one-of-a-kind prints. The creative director's penchant for rich colours and bold patterns is threaded through each collection.’

sika x ANTHROPOLOGIE
‘All of SIKA’s prints – often striking, always stunning – are originals. Drawing on the colors, shapes, and significance of Ghanaian textiles, Phyllis and her in-house print team create their own patterns to that define her dresses, separates, outerwear, swimsuits, and more.’
